In the era of Emperor Kangxi (1662-1722), Chinese ceramics reached its new flourishing state in which varieties of typeforms and production techniques reached a cradle in Chinese ceramic history. In this volume 250 pieces from the Shanghai Museum collection were illustrated and studied in light of new research by specialist Wang Qingzheng. The essay discusses the overall accomplishments of different types of glazes and further details different kilns and issues related to the historical and technical aspects of Kangxi wares.
